Another year at La Dolfina, another Cup season. During the Spring season 2023, the club opens its doors and welcomes the three tournaments that have already become part of its identity: the Polo Ranch Challenge, the Zafiro Cup and the Ladies' Cup. These three competitions bring together players in a series of unique matches under the best polo organization in the world.
Polo Ranch Challenge 2023
The Polo Ranch Challenge, a tournament that marks the start of the spring season at La Dolfina Polo Club, Cañuelas, took place from Monday, September 25 to Thursday, October 5 on the fields of La Dolfina Polo Ranch. Six teams, each with up to 14 goals, faced each other five times throughout the tournament.
During the final, South Patagonian and Lista Blanca met to compete for first place. In an even and challenging match, South Patagonian positioned itself as the champion, beating Lista Blanca with a score of 8 goals to 7.
South Patagonian, conformed by Lorenzo Metro, Francisco Belaustegui, Julio Ruggeri and Matías Benoit, once again demonstrated their ability on the court and won the title of the Polo Ranch Challenge 2023. On this occasion, Benicio Laguarda was recognized as the MVP of the tournament.
After the final, the players made their appearance on the podium where they received their cups. In addition, each team obtained a series of awards in recognition for their performance and dedication.
Guests and players enjoyed a special afternoon at La Dolfina Polo Ranch in a match that not only marked the end of the 2023 Polo Ranch Challenge, but also the beginning of a promising spring season.
Zafiro Cup and Ladies' Cup at La Dolfina Polo Club, venue for the international meeting
From Sunday, October 15 to Thursday, October 26, La Dolfina once again hosted the Zafiro Cup, a high-handicap tournament that functions as a meeting environment for large international polo organizations. This year, a vast field of 12 teams with up to 16 goals will compete for the cup.
This tournament has been played for 18 years at La Dolfina Polo Club in Cañuelas. The Zafiro Cup presents a unique opportunity for its participants, since it not only offers the experience of playing on the fields of the best polo organization in the world, but also of sharing it with players who participate in the Argentine Triple Crown, such as Camilo Castagnola, Guillermo Terrera, Diego Cavanagh and Alejo Taranco.
In parallel, on Tuesday, October 17, the Ladies' Cup also began, an exclusive women's tournament that has the participation of 5 teams with up to 30 goals.
Both tournaments will be held simultaneously on the fields of La Dolfina Polo Club and La Dolfina Polo Ranch.
